MB Criminal Defence Investigations

Our purpose is to ‘even up’ the contest. Too many convictions are attained from an overzealous system that only perceives and purports one side.

In a perfect world every crime would be investigated thoroughly and every lead would be pursued leaving no stone unturned. However, ours is not a perfect world. Therefore, Criminal Defence Investigators are often shouldered with the awesome responsibility of bringing to light what others may not want to be uncovered.

Unfortunately, the pursuit of justice and a crime free society does not come without a price. And often, that price is too high.

It is our plight to ensure that fewer innocent people are forced to pay that price.

Justice is described as the ideal of being just or fair, especially with regard to the punishment of wrongdoing.

We are passionate and insistent on ‘evening out’ an already unbalanced and, at times, overzealous legal system that often only purports one side. Usually the victims.

In the words of Sir William Blackstone, “It is better that ten guilty persons escape, than one innocent suffer.”

Notwithstanding Blackstone’s lament, most Prosecutors don’t seem to concur to that premise.

Prosecutors are driven by a structure that requires the ‘bad people’ be put away for the protection of the public as well as performing the act of punishment. Unfortunately, not all the ‘bad people’ are bad people.

As an investigator, we deal with many differing types of cases. Generally, most of the cases deal with money. However, Criminal defence cases involve something much more important than money. They involve Liberty!

Our system of justice demands that the prosecution, which act for the people, prove that the defendant committed the crime. The same system applies to the defence, whereby the defence has to prove that possibly, the defendant didn’t commit the crime.

This is our plight, our business and our commitment.
